About

Beside other important lessons, the Corona crisis underpins the importance of effective prevention measures in a global perspective.

With the help of the prevention app for Bangladesh, the management of textile factories in Bangladesh should be empowered to better protect their workers – from Corona as well as from occupational diseases. It is also to guide workers to protect themselves and others from corona and to stay healthy at work, even in a demanding working environment.

The project partners GIZ and DGUV launched this app as a customised approach that is easy to understand to reach out to a large number of management and staff in Bangladesh.

This easy-to-follow, digital and customer-oriented access to relevant prevention content is crucial for effective prevention work. Therefore, it is not only of help to workers in Bangladesh to stay safe and healthy but also to those in other countries.

Furthermore, it has the potential to be an important contribution to establishing sustainable supply chains in multi-stakeholder cooperations across academic, social, political, national and industrial boundaries.

As the contents of this app have been developed as recommendations to be implemented in Bangladesh, they may sometimes deviate from the DGUV recommendations for Germany – for example, on minimum social distance, ventilation or temperature measurement.
